Training

  • 90-105 min daily (Including Dryland)
  • 2500-4500 Short Course Meters Per Practice
  • 6 practices offered weekly

Basic Goals

  • Big aerobic build up
  • Emphasis on 100,200’s of stroke, Distance Free and IM’s
  • Refine race tactics
  • Consistent dry-land training program
  • Train all 4 strokes
  • Continue Kick Strengthening
  • Master all drills

Group Goals

  • Goal Setting: long and short term
  • Nutrition-energy sources
  • Intro to energy systems in training
  • Intro to Travel Rules
  • Understanding growth and maturation concept

Equipment   

Athlete must have all equipment with them at practice each day.

  • Meshbag
  • Kickboard
  • Fins
  • Pull Bouy
  • Paddles (Red StrokeM aker or Speedo IM S/M)
  • Snorkel (YR swimmers after January)

Test Sets

  • 1000 TT
  • 8x 100 Fastest Possible Interval

Considerations for Admittance

  • Swimmer is in 5th or 6th grade
  • Consistent attendance
  • Proven Meet Experience
  • 50’s of Legal in all 4 strokes
