SNS SCY Champs Summary
19 swimmers represented EGAC in the Sierra Nevada Swimming Short Course Championships meet, better known to most as Junior Olympics (JOs). Weeks leading up to the 3-day meet, some swimmers got hit hard with the flu/cold so JOs turned into a recovery weekend. Competing in discomfort takes a lot of strength; it is physically and mentally draining. Throw in that inevitable Daylight Savings on Sunday, what a weekend... The meet was full of learning experiences, and the Gators stayed tough and persevered with strong performances throughout the Preliminary and Final sessions.

Our Parents
Thank you to all the parents for coming together to fulfill volunteer tasks for the meet. The signups form went Live one evening and filled up by 7:00 AM the next day. Parents reached out beforehand to offer assistance in extra timing shifts, team area setups and a simple, "Coach, what can I help you with this weekend?" All these gestures come a long way to ensure a successful meet experience for our swimmers.

Randy Jones and Yogi Le, thank you both for representing EGAC on deck and always putting in the time to work meets throughout the season. We have others on the team, and could always use more. These meets do not operate without officials, so let's continue to build our team of EGAC Officials!
